How to Make Super Gut SIBO Eliminating Yogurts
Within each human gastrointestinal tract, there is an exclusive combination of different communities of organisms, including bacteria, viruses, archaea, protozoa and fungi, which are collectively referred to as the gut microbiota and outnumber the total amount of human cells in the human body.1 The collection of these microorganisms, their genomes and the factors that they produce are all part of the gut microbiome.2 Increasing evidence suggests that these microorganisms actively participate in shaping and maintaining our physiology almost as an extra organ.[1]
Due to previous antibiotic or non-steroid anti-inflammatory drug usage, your body has lost a broad spectrum of probiotic organisms. To restore your gut to normal you must reseed your intestinal tract with specific probiotic strains. Dr. William Davis M.D. has created a program for restoring gut health and insulin sensitivity. He teaches that using 3 specific bacterial strains to create your yogurts, is foundational to killing the pathogenic bacteria and fungal organisms in your gut, which also means getting rid of SIBO. Those three strains are L. reuteri ATCC PTA 6475, Lactobacillus gasseri BNR17 and Bacillus coagulans GBI-30,6086. These strains produce bacteriocins, which are chemicals that kill pathogenic bacteria and fungus. Consuming this as a three in one yogurt daily will contribute greatly to gut health restoration. Or you may make each probiotic strain into its own yogurt.
Based upon the work of Dr. Davis, 50% of people have Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO). To confirm this, you would need to purchase the FoodMarble AIRE 2 device (available here: https://foodmarble.com/store/). This is a breath analysis device that measures Hydrogen and Methane. Results from this test will confirm or deny the condition of SIBO. If your breath test is above 4, then it may also take the usage of herbal antibiotics. I carry CandiBactin-AR and CandiBactin-BR as effective herbal antifungal and antibacterial.
The human digestive tract is home to thousands of different strains of bacteria. Many of these are beneficial, while others contribute to health problems such as inflammatory bowel disease. Researchers from MIT and the Broad Institute have now isolated and preserved samples of nearly 8,000 of these strains, while also clarifying their genetic and metabolic context.[2]
After 4 weeks on the 3 bacteriocin producing strains of bacterial yogurt, you would want to continue the consumption of yogurt, with a multispecies probiotic. The broadest multispecies of human strains of probiotics is Progurt. Progurt in the only probiotic on the market that derived its original starting culture from breastfed healthy infant stool. This means that theoretically the entire spectrum of 8000 or so probiotics can be inoculated into your small and large intestines when consuming yogurt made from Progurt. Consume ½ to 1 cup of these yogurts per day
Add ½ gallon of milk to a mason jar or similar glass container. Add 10 crushed tablets of BioGaia (L-Reuteri), + 5 opened capsules of Biothin (Lactobacillus gasseri BNR17) and 5 opened capsules of Digestive Advantage to your milk. Ideally use a yogurt maker or a dehydrator set to 104 degrees and incubate for 30-36 hours. Do not use a yogurt maker with preset temperatures in excess of 104 degrees. The alternative is to put this into your oven with an incandescent (not LED) oven light on. Put a paperback book or magazine into the oven door to allow heat to escape. This will create the ideal 100 degrees F temperature for ideal yogurt culturing. Again, let it incubate for 30-36 hours. Store in the refrigerator and consume ½ cup or more per day. Can also be used diluted with 4oz of yogurt and 4oz of pure water (8oz) rectally to colonize your large bowel very quickly. Use enema syringe bulb lubricated with Silica Gel, butter or coconut oil to insert enema tip rectally. Lay down with buttocks up or on a pillow and hold for 15 minutes.
The alternative to using milk is to use 32 to 64 oz of coconut milk, + 2-4 tsp. of guar gum, + 4-8 tablespoons of sugar, + 2-4 tablespoons of raw potato starch.
