Damage to the gut lining causes an increase in the permeability of the gut. Normally, this lining allows what we want to get into our body - nutrients, water, etc. - while keeping out what we don't want to get in - pathogens, toxins, dangerous chemicals> When the lining is damaged, it is not able to keep out everything we want to keep out. Pathogens (disease-causing organisms like viruses, bacteria and fungi) can get in, as can toxins. This causes disease. In fact, many diseases have their origins in the gut. Therefore, it is imperative that we have a healthy, functioning gut lining to protect and maintain our health. Colostrum-LD is the only clinically proven substance which heals and prevents Leaky Gut Syndrome and GastroDefense helps maintain a balance between good and bad gut bacteria. It promotes the growth of beneficial bacteria, while helping crowd out and eliminate harmful bacteria.
