Calcium Citrate is another form of calcium that has a neutral reaction in the body. Calcium citrate is a calcium salt of citric acid, which is an intermediate in the "Krebs Cycle".
This is a calcium that has just come on the market in the last decade or so. It would be best classified with the calcium oxide group, which is the same group in which calcium gluconate is found. However, it has a higher energy than gluconate. It is very good in helping move the chemistry in anionic direction. Some of you may remember the old reliable antacid called sodium citrate. Well, this is similar only its' supplying the much needed calcium instead of the little needed sodium.
